A cine-camera 11 and a sound recorder 12 are controlled by means of a first switch 141 for controlling the energization of the recorder, a second switch 120 connected between the first switch 141 and the camera 12 for controlling the operation of the camera in response to actuation of the first switch 141, a signal generator 22 for providing a signal when the camera is operating, and means for starting the recorder when this signal is provided upon actuation of the first switch 141. As shown, when the tape recorder 12 is set for recording, the switch 120, Fig. 2b, is closed, causing a transistor 128, Fig. 2d, to conduct so that closure of the camera release button 18 energizes the camera motor 16, plugs 104 and 105 having been inserted in camera jacks 96 and 97. The camera 11 drives a pulse generator 22 which initiates the delayed start of the recorder motor 36, Fig. 2b. If a plug 137 is inserted in a recorder jack 92, the switch 141 controls circuits for the recorder motor 36 and for transistor 128 and hence controls the camera motor 16. If the camera release button 18 is locked closed or is by-passed by a switch 143, the camera may be remotely controlled by the switch 141 which may be in the handle of a microphone.
