The present invention relates to the method of machining hard materials, glasses and crystals and can be used for manufacture of thin plates suitable for use as long-term data carriers. A method includes forming one flat surface of the workpiece, manufacturing a substrate with at least one flat surface, application on the flat surface of substrate of a layer of thermoplastic material, heating the substrate with thermostatic material and workpiece to the softening temperature of the thermostatic material, clamping the workpiece by flat side to the flat side of substrate, cooling, and further grinding and polishing other flat surface of the workpiece, and the workpiece and substrate are made from one material. Technical result of invention is to improve the accuracy of forming a flat surface of the plate. |
