PURPOSE: A light emitting device and a light unit using the same are provided to prevent a short between a body and first and second electrodes by forming an insulation layer on the surface of the body. CONSTITUTION: A first electrode(31) and a second electrode(32) are installed on a body(10). A light emitting chip(20) is electrically connected to the first and second electrodes and generates light. A support pad(12) surrounds the light emitting chip. A dam member(42) is formed on the support pad. A first molding member(40) is formed in the dam member to seal the light emitting chip.
