The door (1) has a gear motor (113) including an endless screw and wheel gear with an output shaft to drive an opening frame (115). A compensating torsion spring (110) applies torque on the shaft, where the torque is opposite to torque generated by weight of the opening frame on the shaft. A gear motor control module (114) occupies closing mode to induce rotation of the shaft in direction to drive the opening frame until closing position and to automatically and systematically induce rotation of the shaft in another direction until the weight of the opening frame generates torque on the shaft. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling a gear motor of a sectional door.
