Catalyst comprising at least one hydro-dehydrogenating metal comprising metal of group VIB and/or group VIII of the periodic table, and a composite support comprising a Y-type zeolite and silicon carbide, where the support comprises 70-99.5% of silicon carbide with a specific surface measured by BET method of greater than 5 m 2>/g and 0.5-30% of Y type zeolite, is new.
