The assembly (1) has an element fixation unit arranged on a side face (F1, F2) for fixing an element e.g. plate, of a table. Another element fixation unit is arranged on same side face. The element is fixed on the former unit when the assembly forms left and right legs (3, 4) of the table in first position of the assembly. The element is fixed on the latter unit when the assembly forms a side of the table in second position of the assembly. The passage of the assembly from the first position to second position is obtained by rotational movement of the assembly around a horizontal axis (2). An independent claim is also included for a method for assembling two tables.
