Synthesizing azine compound (I) comprises reacting, in a reaction medium, hydrogen peroxide, a nitrogen source and an organic compound containing a carbonyl group, in the presence of a catalyst, where the reaction medium is subjected to a pressure of greater than 6 bars and at a temperature of 80 to less than 140[deg] C. Synthesizing azine compound of formula (C(R 1>)(R 2>)=N-N=C(R 1>)(R 2>)) (I) comprises reacting, in a reaction medium, hydrogen peroxide, a nitrogen source and an organic compound containing a carbonyl group, in the presence of a catalyst, where the reaction medium is subjected to a pressure of greater than 6 bars and at a temperature of 80 to less than 140[deg] C.
