<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for estimating the viscosity of a non-Newtonian polymer solution in the second Newtonian region and to create a rheogram of a polymer solution in a wide shearing rate range from the first Newtonian region to the second Newtonian region through the use of such a method. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of species of low-concentration polymer solutions made of both of a solvent of the same species as a polymer solution and a polymer, having a polymer concentration lower than that of the polymer solution, and having different polymer concentrations from one another are prepared. Searing viscosity thereof is measured in a region free from shearing rate dependency to obtain a linear approximate expression indicating the relation between polymer concentration and shearing viscosity. The shearing viscosity of the polymer solutions in the second Newtonian region is determined by a method for substituting the polymer concentrations of the polymer solutions into the linear approximate expression.
