PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable detection of the position of a disk shape pointer with low power consumption in an analog electronic clock having the pointer. SOLUTION: The analog electronic clock includes the disk pointer (61) which is formed of a member shaped like a circular or sectoral plate and which rotates in a display window and points information according to the rotational position of the member. The clock includes a transmission hole (161) which is provided at a position off the rotation center of the disk pointer (61) and a light detecting part (143) which receives external light passing through the transmission hole (161) when the disk pointer (61) comes to a prescribed rotational position, and the rotational position of the disk pointer (61) is discriminated on the basis of detection of the light detecting part (143).
