PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for easily performing the fusion splicing operation, stably maintaining the optical characteristics of a built-in optical fiber and an optical fiber in a fused connection portion and moreover, enhancing the long-term reliability, when assembling an optical connector having a configuration in which a fusion splicing portion of the optical fiber of an optical transmission element and the optical fiber inserted and fixed in a ferrule (built-in optical fiber) are housed in an optical transmission element terminal such as an optical fiber cord. SOLUTION: An optical transmission element with a connector is provided which has a reinforcement tube 10 and a thermoplastic resin provided inside thereof as a fuse-connected part reinforcement sleeve for forming a fuse-connected reinforcement part 20, wherein a linear tensile strength member 32 which is dispersed and arranged over the whole periphery in a peripheral direction is used, and the fuse-connected reinforcement part 20 is housed in a connector housing, wherein a cylindrical tube fixing part 9 of the rear end part of a ferrule housing 3 and both ends of the reinforcement tube 10 are inserted and fixed in the optical transmission element terminal.
