<p>Disclosed is a dye-sensitised solar cell which has significantly improved power generation efficiency, and which prevents reverse electron transfer using a simple method. The dye-sensitised solar cell has: a dye-sensitised solar cell substrate having a substrate and a first electrode layer formed thereon; a counter electrode substrate that functions as an electrode and is disposed so that it faces the dye-sensitised solar cell substrate; an electrolyte layer formed between the dye-sensitised solar cell substrate and the counter electrode substrate; and a porous layer stacked on either the dye-sensitised solar cell substrate or the counter electrode substrate and formed so as to be connected to the electrolyte layer and including metal oxide semiconductor fine particles carrying a sensitiser dye on the surface of thereof. The dye-sensitised solar cell is characterised in that the widths of the electrolyte layer and the porous layer are different, by the covering of the ends of the electrolyte layer and the porous layer with a sealing material, and by the electrolyte being formed so as to not contact the surface of the substrate on which the porous layer is stacked.</p>
