PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for measuring the temperature of a piece having the tilting device of a pyrometer unit are provided to reduce the contamination of the pyrometer unit due to steam or mold power during the cooling of the piece since the distance between the piece and the pyrometer unit becomes farther. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus(300) for measuring the temperature of a piece having the tilting device of a pyrometer unit comprises a pyrometer unit(307), a frame(304), and a driving unit(309). The pyrometer unit transfers along the width of the piece and measures the temperature of the piece. The frame comprises a transfer unit(305). The transfer unit transfers the pyrometer unit along the width of the piece. The driving unit is installed on the frame and one end of the driving unit is coupled to the pyrometer unit. The driving unit controls the rotating angle of the pyrometer unit. The driving unit comprises a driving shaft(309a). One end of the driving shaft is coupled to the pyrometer unit.
