<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce noise when opening and closing a keyboard cover. <P>SOLUTION: A keyboard instrument includes a keyboard cover 3 for opening and closing an opening where a keyboard is arranged, a first idler 20 rotatably supported around a first rotating shaft 24, and a second idler 21 rotatably supported around a second rotating shaft 25 different from the first rotating shaft 24. The first idler 20 and the second idler 21 are arranged in contact with the outside face of the keyboard cover 3. The keyboard cover 3 is formed of a plurality of slats. The plurality of the slats are connected so that the keyboard cover 3 curves the outside face outward. Then, the first idler 20 and the second idler 21 are arranged so that any of the slats is reliably brought into contact with either the first idler 20 or the second idler 21.
