PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To drive a LD with a single power source regardless of a bit rate. SOLUTION: A memory 13 stores data of an LUT representing the relationship between the temperature and drive voltage Vdrv of an LD 211 for every bit rate. The CPU 143 of a control section 14 selects an LUT corresponding to bit rates of electric signals S[IN+], S[IN-] output by a data output section 22, and acquires a drive voltage Vdrv corresponding to the temperature of the LD 211 acquired from a temperature sensor 142. The CPU 143 supplies a voltage control signal for controlling to output the drive voltage Vdrv to an output voltage control circuit 144. A DC-DC converter 11 is controlled by the output voltage control circuit 144 to convert a power voltage Vcc to the drive voltage Vdrv corresponding to a bit rate, and applies the drive voltage Vdrv to the LD 211 of an optical module 21.
