PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrical connector with a shell with improved bond strength of an upper shell and a lower shell. SOLUTION: In the electrical connector provided with a housing 11 for aligning and retaining a plurality of terminals, and an upper shell 21 as well as a lower shell 22 made of a metal plate attached to the housing with a parallel face along a length direction as an alignment direction of the plurality of terminals, with the upper shell and the lower shell solder-connected with each other at least at both ends in a length direction, either the upper shell 21 or the lower shell 22 is equipped with a protruded piece 26 at an intermediate area between both ends in the length direction, the other has a hole or a notch as a receiving unit 23A for receiving the protruded piece, and the housing has a penetrating space 12A formed for allowing vertical penetration of the protruded piece, while, the protruded piece 26 penetrating the penetrating space 12A is solder-connected to a periphery of the receiving unit 23A.
