PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a high quality image in an electro-optical device such as a liquid crystal device. SOLUTION: The electro-optical device includes: an electro-optical panel (100) for displaying an image by allowing incidence of light; dust-proofing substrates (121, 122) laminated on at least one surface on the incidence side and on the emission side of light of the electro-optical panel; a holding member (630) arranged in contact with at least part of the dust-proofing substrates, for storing the electro-optical panel and the dust-proofing substrates; and an earth potential supply means (660) for supplying an earth potential to the holding member.
