<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To drive a display device having pixels including a driving transistor and an organic light emitting device using raw gray scale image data representing an image. <P>SOLUTION: High and low ranges of the raw gray scale image data (raw data) are defined, and ranges to which raw data of respective pixels belong are determined. The raw data in the low range is converted to a high gray scale value, the pixels are driven with a current corresponding to the gray scale value in a shorter period than the whole frame period. The raw data in the high range is converted to a high gray scale value, the pixels are driven with a current corresponding to the gray scale value in a period being shorter than the whole frame period and a period being different from the period of the image data of the low range. When the raw data is adjusted according to a gamma curve previously selected before it is used for drive of the pixel, the high and low ranges are selected based on the degree of better correction of the raw data by the gamma curve in the range. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
