摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel supply control device for an internal combustion engine capable of suppressing thermal deterioration due to overheating of an exhaust emission purifying catalyst by introducing such a system that the catalyst temperature does not exceed the overheat point even in case a catalyst temperature has risen owing to a reaction of a reducer in the exhaust emission purifying catalyst with the oxygen in the exhaust gas when a fuel cut is conducted after a fuel incremental control. SOLUTION: A CPU of an electric controller prohibits the fuel cut when the catalyst temperature Tc sensed by a catalyst temperature sensor is at or over a threshold temperature Tcat1 calculated by a fuel cut prohibition judging Routine in case the fuel cut conditions are met. On the other hand, the CPU executes the fuel cut when the catalyst temperature is lower than the threshold in case the fuel cut conditions are met. The threshold temperature is decided on the basis of the fuel increasing rate Kotp used in the fuel incremental control immediately before transition of the engine to the deceleration state (amount of the reducer supplied to the exhaust emission purifying catalyst).
