PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To express a detailed moving locus by a series of position data, and to prevent the entire amount of recorded position data from becoming too large in a positioning device for recording the position data by measuring a current position. SOLUTION: In the positioning device including a positioning means of measuring a current position and a recording control means of performing recording control of a series of position data obtained successively by the measurement of the positioning means, and in a method and a program for recording the position data, bent parts (D2, D3, D4, D5) of the moving locus shown by the series of position data are discriminated, thus recording only the position data of a part that has been discriminated to be a bent part by excluding the position data of a part not discriminated to be a bent part.
