PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a media server device such as a voice guidance device, and to provide a service providing method for the device. SOLUTION: The media server device 10 establishes a session with a predetermined user terminal 26 over a network 22 under an environment by a SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) server 24, and provides predetermined services to the terminal 26. When an INFO message attached with a reservation flag is received from the SIP server 24, a resource decision unit 18 determines whether resources required for the services are available for the device 10 based on resource information at a resource information unit 20, and reserves the resources if available. In addition, when an INFO message without the reservation flag is received from the SIP server 24, a service generator 12 generates and provides the services to the terminal 26.
