PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pedal load sensor which can accurately detect a load by eliminating an effect of a load distribution. SOLUTION: The pedal load sensor comprises: a load receiving plate 11 to which a pedal tread force is applied; a distortion generator 13 both ends of which are fixed to load input sections 12a, 12b provided at both ends of the load receiving plate; a support section 14 for supporting the middle section of the distortion generator; at least four distortion resistance elements 21-24 linearly disposed on the surface of the distortion generator, and receiving a compression stress and tensile stress by a distortion of the distortion generator; first and second bridge circuits BC1, BC2 formed by the distortion resistance elements for receiving the compression stress and the tensile stress; a first addition means 28 for adding outputs from the first and second bridge circuits; and a correction means 35 for correcting an output from the first addition circuit so as to have a value matched with the tread force applied to the load receiving plate in response to a difference between the outputs from the first and second bridge circuits.
