The method involves operating determined cylindrical banks through an assigned controlling unit with partial-operating moment that is indicated through information. The cylindrical banks are operated by the controlling unit with another partial-operating moment, so that predetermined overall operating moment is sum of two partial-operating moments indicated through information in use condition. The cylindrical banks are provided with a group of cylinders, and diagnosis process and/or adaptation process is executed for determination of the cylindrical banks.
