The bumper (1) has a main cross beam (3) including a hollow section and convexly curved from outside relative to a vehicle longitudinal direction (6). An elastically deformable absorber (4) is fastened to outer side of the main cross beam and arranged at the main cross beam. An auxiliary cross beam (5) is arranged at inner side of the main cross beam, fastened to the main cross beam and includes a U-section opened toward the main cross beam. A U-arm of the U-section of the auxiliary cross beam upwardly and downwardly overlaps the main cross beam.
