PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a glass molding by which the manufacture of the glass molding from a molten glass gob is carried out while suppressing the sticking of the widest part of the molten glass to a recessed surface of a glass mold. SOLUTION: The recessed surface 11 of the glass mold 10 has a first surface 111 including the center of the recessed surface 11 and a second surface 112 inclined at a larger angle than that of the first surface 111. The manufacturing method has a step of receiving the molten glass gob GA into the recessed surface 11 so that the upper end part 114 of the second surface 112 is positioned below the widest part S where the width in the horizontal direction in the molten glass gob GA is widest.
