PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for suppressing deterioration in image quality while keeping printing costs corresponding to an amount of toner to be used. SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus 1 includes: a color conversion part 2 for converting image information into color information for two specific colors; a calculation part 3 for calculating the used amount of toner from the color information for the two colors obtained by conversion at the color conversion part 2; a determination part 4 for determining whether or not the obtained amount of toner calculated by the calculation part 3 exceeds a threshold; and a changing part 6 for changing the color information for at least one color of the color information for the two colors so that the used amount of the toner is reduced when determined that the amount of toner exceeds the threshold by the determination part 4.
