PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of a conventional system that involves the material cost of resin and installation cost of jigs since a magnet is fixed with mold by resin so as to suppress noise caused by a magnet shift within a magnet storing hole accompanying the rotation of a rotor in an IPM motor. SOLUTION: In the rotor of an IPM motor comprising a rotor core made by stacking a plurality of thin plate-shaped magnetic plates, a plurality of storing holes provided at roughly equal intervals in the circumferential direction of the rotor core, and plate-shaped magnets inserted into the storing holes, the storing holes are made larger by specified dimensions than the magnitudes of the magnets in the axial cross direction, and the magnets are arranged to abut on the rotor core at one-sided longitudinal flanks of the storing holes, and are also provided with regions where the magnets and the rotor core do not contact with each other in the vicinity of the other longitudinal ends of the magnet storing holes. By this structure, the magnets are fixed while being in contact with the longitudinal flanks of the storing holes of the rotor core by current magnetic fields at drive, thereby suppressing noise.
