PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light irradiation device in which safety improves by doubly inhibiting the leakage of irradiation light. SOLUTION: The light irradiation device is provided with at one end of a body 1 used by gripping: a light source 8; a light shielding tube 9 which includes at the end an opening emitting the light of the light source 8 and covering the periphery of the light source 8; and an outer light shielding tube 12 which includes an opening positioned at the end and covering the periphery of the light shielding tube 9. Then, while the end of the light shielding tube 9 and that of the outer light shielding tube 12 are abutted on the skin 30, the light of the light source 8 is irradiated on a section of the skin 30 surrounded by the end of the light shielding tube 9. Thus, when the light is irradiated on the skin 30, even if the irradiation light is leaked from the gap between the light shielding tube 9 and the skin 30, the irradiation light is shielded by the outer light shielding tube 12, so that the irradiation light is prevented from being leaked to the outside from the outer light shielding tube 12, which improves safety against light leakage.
