PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for folding fabric pieces which occupies less floor space in a width direction. SOLUTION: The apparatus for folding fabric pieces includes: a center folding device 23a for folding a large fabric piece in two; a right folding device 23c and a left folding device 23b for folding a small fabric piece in two; a refolding device 24 for folding only the large fabric piece in two; and a pair of a first clamping conveyer 18 and a second clamping conveyer 19 for clamping and conveying the large fabric piece operated in conjunction with the refolding device 24. The first clamping conveyer 18 and the second clamping conveyer 19 have their respective clamping ends 18a and 19b arranged so as to face each other, and the first and second clamping conveyors 18 and 19 are arranged horizontally under the center folding device 23a, the right folding device 23c and the left folding device 23b. The small fabric piece can be conveyed to the next process without passing it through the first clamping conveyer 18 and the second clamping conveyer 19. Therefore, the clamping ends 18a and 19b can be positioned near the center folding device 23a so as to decrease an area on a floor occupied by the apparatus for folding fabric pieces in the width direction.
