PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent adhesion of solder to a contact point by preventing the occurrence of wiping, with a simple constitution when a contact piece of an upper end of a contact pin is brought into pressure contact to a terminal of an electrical component. SOLUTION: A socket for an electrical component is equipped with a plurality of contact pins 20 in a socket body. Each contact pin 20 has: a lower contact part 20b electrically conducted to a contact of a substrate; an upper contact part 20c brought into contact with a terminal of an electrical component in pressing; and a curved spring portion 20d located between the lower contact part 20b and the upper contact part 20c, elastically deformed in pressing, and allowing the upper contact part 20c to be brought into pressure contact with the terminal by an elastic force of the elastic deformation. Each contact pin 20 is formed in a shape such that, in pressing, a position of the contact point relative to the terminal does not change when an upper contact part 20c side is rotated about a contact point (contact projection 20g) between the upper contact part 20c and the terminal until pressing is completed after the upper contact part 20c begins to contact with the terminal.
