PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation apparatus which can make the user recognize appropriate information about a carpool lane. SOLUTION: A navigation apparatus includes: map data acquiring means acquiring map data including carpool lane data; vehicle's position determining means for determining a current position of a vehicle on which the navigation apparatus has been mounted; and a display device for displaying the current position of the vehicle on a map on the basis of the map data acquired by the map data acquiring means and the current position determined by the vehicle's position determining means. The navigation apparatus further includes a control section for, when a carpool lane comes close to a predetermined location, on the basis of the carpool lane data acquired by the map data acquiring means and the current position of the vehicle, causing the display device to display a map including the current position of the vehicle, information about the carpool lane, a predetermined figure indicating the carpool lane, and a detailed drawing showing the carpool lane in distinction from other lanes by enlarging the carpool lane.
