PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct such a situation that connector housings are fitted mutually in an inclined attitude. SOLUTION: In a lever type connector, a lever 6 is rotatably mounted on a side surface of a female connector housing 8. A cam follower 3 guided along a cam groove 11 of the lever 6 protrudes in an inner surface of a hood 2 of a male connector housing. An idle region for not advancing the fitting of mutual connector housings is provided continuously in a dead end of the cam groove 11. When the lever 6 is operated to be rotated and thereby both connector housings are brought in a fitted state, the female connector housing 8 may be brought in an inclined attitude where an operation part 6B side of the lever 6 is fitted more deeply. However, while the cam follower 3 is displaced in the idle region, an attitude correcting part 12 provided on an opposite side of the operation part 6B is caught in a receiving part 4, so that a slightly floated side of the female connector housing 8 is forcibly pushed.
