The sensor has a layer (2) with a piezoelectric sensor for converting vibrations of a machine element into electric impulse. A display element (4) has an electro-optical component (6) controlled by the electric impulse delivered by the piezoelectric sensor. The electro-optical component is provided with an electrochromic coating and is formed as an electrowetting cell. An energy storage (3) is provided for intermediate storage of energy provided from the piezoelectric sensor and is unloaded by the display element. The energy storage is formed as film battery or capacitor.
