The method involves forming a base (2) of an instrument dial (1) by a foil, and printing the foil or a set of portions (4) of the foil with a lacquer. Another set of portions (5) of the foil is printing with another lacquer that is different from the former lacquer. The latter set of portions of the foil is deep-drawn into a predetermined form by a deep-drawing process. Printing of the latter set of portions is carried out by an outline printing process, where the latter lacquer is formed as a black lacquer with mat appearance.
