BINDER RESIN FOR TONER

Disclosed are a binder resin for toners which is obtained by condensation-polymerizing a carboxylic acid ingredient with an alcohol ingredient in the presence of a lignin compound, an electrophotographic toner containing the binder resin for toners, and a process for producing a binder resin for toners which includes the step of condensation-polymerizing a carboxylic acid ingredient with an alcohol ingredient in the presence of a lignin compound. The binder resin for toners is suitable for use as a binder resin for toners which are used in, e.g., the development of latent images formed in electrophotography, electrostatic recording, electrostatic printing, or the like.
