<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that detects that a recording medium is wound around a heating means, without heating the heating means in a fixing device. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a paper detection sensor 17 for detecting that conveyance of paper P fails in the fixing device 12; and first and second temperature detection sensors 26a and 26b for detecting a surface temperature of a non-paper passing region and a paper passing region of a first heating roller 21 of the fixing device 12. A control part 35 stops the rotation and heating of the first heating roller 21 urgently when the paper detection sensor 17 detects a conveyance failure, and determines that the paper P is wound around the first heating roller 21 when the first detection temperature of the first temperature detection sensor 26a after the urgent stop increases, and the second detection temperature of the second temperature detection sensor 26b decreases. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
