<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device that presents costs for replacing an image forming device in consideration of reuse of existing components in a new product, to reduce the replacement cost, while presenting a candidate image forming device and promoting reuse of components. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming device, price information of the candidate product and compatibility information of a component used in the candidate product are acquired from a database 51 or the like managed by a manufacturer, and a cost calculation part 29 calculates replacement cost for the candidate product when an existing component of the image forming device is used in the candidate product. The candidate product is presented to a user together with the replacement cost. A use history or the like of the image forming device is stored in a history storage part 26, residual value of the component is calculated from the above data in a residual value calculation part 29.
