摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically form and display a two-dimensional image observed from an observation direction, regarding an object whose observation direction is defined. <P>SOLUTION: The same object is captured by a camera from imaging points Q1, Q2 to obtain captured images P1, P2. The image P1 is analyzed to recognize a reference plane R of interest on the object, and points S11-S14 corresponding to four points S31-S34 on the reference plane R are obtained on the image P1. Features of the images P1, P2 are compared to obtain points S21-S24 corresponding to the points S11-S14 on the image P2. Three-dimensional coordinate values of the points S31-S34 on the reference plane R are obtained from eight points S11-S24 on the images P1, P2 and information on the location and direction of the camera. Based on the coordinate values of the points S11-S24 and points S31-S34, a transformation formula for transforming the images P1, P2 on an xy coordinate system into images on a uv coordinate system is derived, and the transformation formula is used to obtain transformed images of the images P1, P2 on the uv coordinate system.
