PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize the combustion state of a combustion device of a heat source as much as possible. SOLUTION: This waste heat boiler includes: a switching damper 24 differentiating the amount of waste gas from the heat source 2 having the combustion device 2A made to flow to a waste gas heat recovery pipe 21 from that made to flow bypassing the heat recovery pipe 21, depending on the opening/closing position; and a control means 44 controlling the operation of the switching damper 24. The waste heat boiler further includes a control means 49 controlling the state where a heat receiving amount of the heat recovery pipe 21 becomes excessive with respect to a required load amount for the waste heat boiler, without changing a ventilation pressure loss of waste gas flow passages 15, 16. The control means 44 performs control so as not to change the opening/closing position of the switching damper 24 by the fluctuation of the required load amount. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
