The present invention discloses a method and network side equipment for transmitting multimedia broadcast multicast service (MBMS) paging indication information, wherein the method includes the following steps: the network side equipment sets the transmission location of each piece of MBMS control channel (MCCH) modification indication information on a paging indication channel and that of paging indication information of an MBMS service group on a paging indication channel, and sends, according to the set transmission locations, the corresponding MCCH modification indication information and paging indication information of the MBMS service group on the paging indication channel. The technical solution of the present invention makes full use of the space of the paging indication channel, and indicates more clearly the paging situation of different service groups of a user equipment (UE) and the MCCH change information. |
