Provided is a photocatalyst-coated object which prevents corrosion down to a substrate, particularly an organic substrate, and which also has various excellent characteristics, especially toxic gas decomposition capability and weathering resistance. The photocatalyst-coated object comprises a substrate and a photocatalyst layer disposed on the substrate. The primary components of the photocatalyst layer are photocatalyst particles in an amount greater than 1 mass% but less than 3 mass%, and inorganic oxide particles in an amount greater than 92 mass% but less than 99 mass%, assuming that the total amount of the photocatalyst layer is 100 mass%. The photocatalyst-coated object can be used under high UV exposure and high-temperature/high-humidity climate conditions particularly in tropical and subtropical zones at low latitudes.
