<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst having excellent hydrogenating capabilities, including those of hydrogenation, desulfurization, denitrification and residual carbon removal, as a hydrogenation catalyst for hydrocarbon oils, compared with conventional hydrogenation catalysts, and a method of hydrogenating hydrocarbon oils using it. <P>SOLUTION: The method of producing a hydrogenation catalyst for hydrocarbon oils comprises adhering a boron compound to the surface of pores of an alumina-based inorganic porous support, baking the support to obtain a boron-supported intermediate, adding, to the intermediate, 10-40 mass%, based on the amount of the oxide catalyst, of at least one element of the group 6 in the periodic table, 0.5-15 mass% of at least one element of the groups 8-10 and an organic additive in an amount 0.15-3 times the total molar number of the elements of group 6 and groups 8-10 and drying the resultant mixture to cause the elements of group 6 and groups 8-10 in the periodic table and the organic additive to be supported. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
