PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nozzle for continuous casting in which the nozzle joint between a upper edge face of the nozzle body and a refractory at a upper part thereof can be perfectly sealed by using a liquid metal seal, and to provide a continuous casting method for a steel using the same. SOLUTION: In the nozzle for continuous casting, the nozzle joint of the upper edge face in the nozzle body is sealed with refractory packing materials 11, 12 formed double on the inner and outer sides and a liquid metal seal 13 held therebetween and melted in a using state. Each refractory packing material comprises a resin based binder, and the liquid metal seal 13 is composed of a metal having a melting point T<SB>M</SB>between a softening temperature T<SB>S</SB>of the refractory packing materials and a hardening temperature T<SB>H</SB>after an evaporation of the resin based binder. Further, continuous casting is performed in such a manner that a pressing force applied to the nozzle joint is controlled to 0.2 to 1.5 MPa, and a flow rate of an inert gas is controlled to 0 to 1 NL/ton per weight of a unit molten steel passing through an inside of the nozzle.
