PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching regulator improved in stability and responsiveness of a circuit operation. SOLUTION: The switching regulator (100) comprises a transconductance error amplifier (110) which compares an output voltage (VOUT) with a reference voltage (VF), and outputs its differential input voltage (Vi) as a current (i110). The transconductance error amplifier (110) outputs output currents (i110a), (i110b) which are changed nonlinearly with respect to the differential input voltage (Vi). As the differential input voltage (Vi) becomes high, the output currents (i110a), (i110b) are increased nonlinearly, transconductance gm is increased, and frequency characteristics are improved, thus improving characteristics of the input/output responsiveness of the circuit operation.
