PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system which can recover communication even when communication failure occurs. SOLUTION: In the communication system in which a master device 10 and at least one slave device 20 are interconnected by an IIC communication line to perform mutual IIC communication based upon an IIC protocol, the master device and slave device 20 are interconnected by a report line 31 different from a communication line for reporting failure occurrence, and at least one of the master device and slave device includes a detection means (control part 11) of detecting failure occurring to the communication line, a reporting means (control part 11) of reporting occurrence of failure to other modules through the report line when the failure is detected, and a recovering means (reset circuit 25) of recovering the IIC communication when the failure is detected.
