PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a specimen rack conveying device capable of altering the conveying length of specimen racks and enhancing the flexibility and versatility of placement layout of the specimen processing system. SOLUTION: The conveying device 14 includes both of a conveyor belt 35 for conveying specimen racks 15 and a support mechanism for supporting the conveyor belt to run and allowing the conveying length L of the specimen racks to extend and contract. The support mechanism includes a plurality of pulleys 56 and 57 over which the conveyor belt is wound and a support frame 34 for rotatably supporting the plurality of pulleys. The plurality of pulleys include a pair of main pulleys 56 over which the conveyor belt is wound at both end positions of a specimen rack conveying region and other subpulleys 57. The pair of main pulleys are supported at the support frame such that their interval can be extended and contracted. At least one subpulley 57b can be supported at the support frame such that a winding position of the conveyor belt can be adjusted according to the extension and contraction of the interval across the pair of main pulleys.
