PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the paper front edge from running on an inner wall when storing paper or when installing a paper cassette, in a constitution for exhibiting the separation function by forming the inner wall of the paper cassette opposed to the paper front edge in an inclined shape. SOLUTION: The paper cassette 3 is constituted so that a separating inclined face 10b forming the inner wall opposed to the front edge of recording paper P can switch a first state (inclined) and a second state (vertical). Thus, the paper separation function can be exhibited in the first state (inclined) of forming a predetermined inclination. An excellent butting feeling can be provided when storing (setting) the paper in the second state (vertical), and the paper front edge can be prevented from running on the separating inclined face 10b by butting the recording paper P more than necessary, in its turn, double feeding of the paper can be prevented.
