PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small and lightweight extensible unit and a bicycle having auxiliary wheels each of which is equipped with the extensible unit. SOLUTION: The bicycle 2 is equipped with a pair of support devices 18 which are positioned on both sides of a main frame 4. Each support device 18 supports the auxiliary wheel 16. The support device 18 is equipped with the extensible unit 48. The extensible unit 48 extends and contracts, thereby moving the auxiliary wheel 16 up and down. The extensible unit 48 includes a first member, a second member and a fixer. Either one of the first and second members is inserted into the other. The extensible unit 48 is configured to extend and contract its whole length wherein the second member moves with respect to the first member. The fixer is supported by the first member. The bicycle 2 is configured so that the fixer is pressed against the second member, thereby preventing the second member from moving with respect to the first member. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
