PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently retrieve the telephone number of the opposite party with simple operation. SOLUTION: A telephone terminal 10 transmits a retrieval request including retrieval key information consisting of a telephone number of one or more digits inputted by operation to a telephone directory management device 20, the telephone directory management device 20 retrieves the telephone numbers of the opposite parties corresponding to the retrieval key information included in the retrieval request only by designated number in the order of high retrieval priorities in response to the retrieval request, and transmits the obtained telephone numbers of the opposite parties and names of the opposite parties as retrieval results to the telephone terminal 10, and the telephone terminal 10 displays the names of the opposite parties of the telephone numbers of the opposite parties included in the retrieval results on a screen display part of the telephone terminal 10 in the descending order of the number of calling times of the respective telephone numbers of the opposite parties obtained from calling history information.
