PRESSURE TRANSMITTER FOR MEASURING THE PRESSURE OF A PROCESS FLUID AND RELATED METHOD

A pressure transmitter and a related method for measuring the pressure exerted by a fluid on the diaphragm of the pressure transmitter itself. The pressure transmitter has a pressure sensor assembly which comprises a diaphragm displaceable under the pressure exerted on it by the fluid, first and second electronic circuits generating in output a first and a second oscillating signal, respectively, whose frequencies depend on the displacement of the diaphragm. The pressure transmitter also comprises first electronic means for calculating a first (N1) and a second (N2) numerical value which are representative of the oscillating frequency of the first and second oscillating signals, respectively, and second electronic means which generate a signal (Pi) indicative of the pressure exerted by the fluid on the diaphragm, on the basis of the first and second calculated numerical values.
