The present invention relates to a depilatory composition including: hydrogenated or unhydrogenated rosin, and/or rosin derivatives selected from glycerol-, triethylene glycol- pentaerythritol- or trimethylolpropane-esterified rosin; and at least one vegetable fat derived from rice and selected from rice bran or germ oil, rice wax and rice butter. The depilation wax can be used with or without strips and may contain thermoplastic elastomers. The invention also relates to a method for preparing such depilatory wax.
